Mission Statement: Innovative combat ready equipment, enabling users to seamlessly execute and adapt to complex mission environments
My first piece of ISH gear started from a lesson learned in 1989. While preparing/ rehearsing for “Operation Just Cause” (Panama) at night, with full equipment, conducting fast rope iterations from a HH-60 the leg loops of my standard climbing harness snagged on the exit causing me to become a hung roper. I was able to climb back up the fast rope and reenter the helo and disengage myself. I immediately remounted the fast rope and descended, but the helo had begun its ascent causing the fast rope to no longer be on the ground resulting in a 15 ft. freefall landing. I was fortunate not only to survive without injury. I always say, “sometimes I would rather be lucky than skillful,” that day I was lucky. From this experience I learned the importance of modularity.
I was a Pararescueman (PJ) in the United States Air Force for over 20 years. I still live and work by the following principles of the PJ Creed:
“It is my duty as a Pararescueman to save life and aid the injured. I will be prepared at all times to perform my assigned duties quickly and efficiently, placing these duties before personal desires and comforts. These Things I do That others may Live.”
I have been driven by this creed since I was 18 years old. Throughout the years of working, studying and collaborating with the best, I have been able to develop and create safe mission-focused gear.
The ISH Gear products are innovative, simple, easy to use both day and night, multi-functional which gives operator’s options. In our ever-changing world, nothing is constant it is always evolving but the Operator, the User, the “Animal” is the constant; the common thread throughout history.
